Most users visit the device manager to install drivers after Windows installation. Device manager is the new target of Microsoft’s migration strategy.

With Windows 10 build 2004 (Build 19041.423), the online driver cannot be searched through device manager anymore. Only a package search on your computer can be performed through the driver menu of the device manager.

Device driver disconnected from the internet

The software giant, which also prevents the device manager from accessing its own servers, carried this function to the settings application. Existing updates, which can be found in the optional updates section, are thus made more accessible. In current systems, the driver installation process is almost entirely handled by the operating system. Apparently, Microsoft wants to streamline the update process for the most successful version of Windows with drivers.
